Knight & Brinegar is a retro-forward writing team consisting of experimental playwright Krista Knight and musician/David’s Pegasus frontman Barry Brinegar. Their work includes the 19th century bit-pop grand guignol SALAMANDER LEVIATHAN (Joe's Pub, Ars Nova, Fingerlakes Musical Theatre Festival, New Georges, Inkwell, KCACTF Musical Theatre Award from the Kennedy Center), the apocalyptic surf-rock musical DOOMSURFING (Parkside Lounge, Berkeley Rep, Flea, UCSD), the holiday plays THE SNOWMAN FROSTY and BLOOD ELVES: POLAR JUSTICE (Ensemble Studio Theatre), COACH DARLING (F*it Club, Williamstown Theatre Festival), and the multi-media nanobiology collaboration with Case Western Reserve University called THE NANOMAN. Their plays for young adults include the Icarus/Daedalus adaptation LIGHT EMBRACE and the post-punk Medusa adaptation HISSIFIT (Berkeley Rep).
